South Torrance Results and Redondo Invitational Info

Mustangs Victorious: All four Mustang teams outscored the Spartans of South Torrance High on Wednesday as a great crowd went through several climate changes in the course of 3 hours! It was a blowout for sure (and we’re not just talking about that wind that came up about 4 o’clock!)
Here are the results:
Boys Varsity: MC 114, South 22
Girls Varsity: MC 84, South 56
Boys F/S: MC 114, South 22
Girls F/S: MC 107, South 29

Redondo/Nike Invitational Today and Tomorrow: Beginning with a Distance Carnival and Throws competition this afternoon, our Mustangs (and we parents) will spend a good deal of time at Redondo Union High School this weekend (The front of the school is on PCH, but the track stadium is on Vincent between PCH and Prospect)
Take note that the neighborhood across from the track stadium is now permit only, so be sure to give yourself PLENTY of time to find parking (read the signs!). It was challenging to find nearby parking before, so be prepared to walk several blocks.

Still taking Donations! If you have not donated yet to Track & Field, there’s still time! As you know, the Booster Club pays for all expenses associated with the program, including Coach Stipends, Transportation Costs (Buses) and invitational entry fees for the athletes (It costs $500 for our team to compete at Nike, for example). You can mail in your check, Payable to MBX w/Track & Field in the Memo, to PO Box 1195, Manhattan Beach CA 90267 or you can donate online via the Booster Club Donations page on the MBX website.
In case you are interested in what we pay for, here’s our proposed expense budget for this season.

Still taking Spirit Gear Orders: Fill out this ORDER SHEET and mail it to the Boosters with your check.

Gluttons for Punishment: If you haven’t had enough of the running world by Sunday (I guess watching doesn’t really count as exercise, does it?), Village Runner, one of our banner sponsors, is hosting a St. Patty’s Day run (a day early). If you register and indicate MCHS Track as your “team” affiliation, we’ll get a donation from them!  INFO HERE

Photo Gallery: Thanks so much to Brett Hodges and our other contributing photographers who have been snapping pix at the recent meets. In case you haven’t seen the 2014 gallery (growing every week!) you can check it out HERE.
