First Meet Saturday, March 1st @ Costa

First of all….The rain: Everyone is wondering what happens if it rains during a track meet? Generally, track events continue in rain with the exception of the high jump and pole vault events. The coaches will be watching the weather carefully, and it will be a meet-time decision.  We all know there are some crazy weather predictions for Saturday…but we also know that weather predicting  in So Cal is like trying to guess in Sept who will go to prom together in June! So, plan to bring your ponchos and umbrellas and let’s see what happens!  Keep checking your email and the website for updates! A word from Coach Russell:  “They don’t call it an all-weather track from nothing… The rain is a concern but we will approach the track meet like any other. We will err on the side of caution when it comes to the field events, but all of the running events I plan to run as we normally would.”

If attendance is very low, or if the weather is so brutal (thunder, lightening…storm of the century) we don’t continue, please consider buying some of the fresh food available at the snack stand to take home with you. We don’t want to lose that investment (and we want to reward our vendors for coming out it in the rain! We’re expecting Kettle Korn, the taco/grill guy, and some treats!)

More volunteers needed for this Saturday: Sign up here

Donations: Thank you to those that have donated!  If you haven’t, please consider doing so if you are able.  Donate here.  Some employers offer matching donations.  Past companies that have offered matching donations can be found here.

Pitfire Pizza: Thanks to all who came out to support this fundraiser, and thanks to Pitfire Pizza for generously agreeing to give back to Track. We don’t have the totals yet on how much we made, but we’ll let you know! Thanks to Meika Fang for arranging this. Our last restaurant fundraiser will be at CPK March 27. We’ll remind you!

Orders: TeamWear orders continue to be filled (except for the backordered warm-ups. We are expecting the shipment any minute, so should have them to the kids next week).  Coach Calderon has the orders that haven’t been picked up in his classroom. Kids can stop by at lunchtime. The first round of Spirit Gear orders will be coming in the next week or so. Stay tuned!
