Uniform Orders, Pitfire Pizza Night & other biz‏

Uniforms and TeamWear: The first batch of TeamWear orders (uniforms, warmups and game day shirts) has been filled. (We had an incredible crew of a dozen volunteers who knocked out this task in about 90 minutes last Sunday afternoon. Thank you all!) Unfortunately, we are backordered on sizes small and medium in both men’s and women’s warmups (pants and jackets). We will get them out to the athletes as soon as they come in! But uniform and game day shirt orders are complete!

We will be distributing the TeamWear orders on Monday afternoon at the track. A list of those from whom we’ve received orders is here:  Orders Received as of 2/20. If your kiddo’s name isn’t there, then we did not receive an order from you. Click HERE for an order form. Please return this completed form with payment on Monday to Coach Moe. We will do everything possible to get the late orders distributed before the meet on Saturday 3/1. (Note: If your student thinks they placed an order, but it’s not on the list, they probably thought that they did so during the sizing session. We did not take orders that day (since the kids don’t carry checkbooks!) Most orders were placed at the parent meeting or came in via mail shortly thereafter. We do have a record of the sizes, so we will have those available on Monday if they need a reminder.

Spirit Gear: We are hoping to receive the spirit gear items (duffels, t-shirts, sweatshirts, merch) next week and if we do, will try to have them ready for the Saturday meet. Keep an eye out for an invitation this week to help fill those orders if so! Still want to order? We can submit secondary orders, but they will be received a couple of weeks later than the others)

Stadium Chairs: We are down to our last two stadium chairs (if you purchased one this past week, it will be waiting for you on Saturday at the meet!) If you think you would like to order a chair, please email us by clicking here. We have to order in multiples of 12, so if no one else is buying this season, we won’t place an order (unless you have space to store 12 chairs in your garage until next year….). If we have 5 or more folks interested, we’ll order right away. Place your order via the Spirit Gear order form, linked above.

Please donate today! We’re half way there to our donation goal! If you attended the parent meeting, you learned that Booster Club donations and fundraising are the only sources of financial support for the Track & Field program. Booster Club pays for bus transportation, coach stipends and equipment, in addition to the other costs associated with the program. In order to meet this year’s budget, we are suggesting a donation of $350 per athlete. We understand that not everyone is in a position to give that amount, and that others can give more.  We also understand that if Track is your athlete’s second, or even third, sport, you have already been asked to donate to other booster clubs. Unfortunately, Track & Field does not receive any of the money donated to those other programs. Please give what you can.  Your donation in no way affects your athlete’s ability to participate in Track & Field. However, we would very much appreciate your donation of any amount to help the coaches continue to run the acclaimed Track & Field program. However, keep in mind that we pay 2.75% in fees, so we would appreciate it if you’d increase your payment by that amount.

Pitfire Pizza Fundraiser Monday!: Who wants to cook dinner Monday night? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Me neither! Help yourself and help the Track program by heading on over to Pitfire Pizza at the Metlox Plaza in downtown MB between 4 and 10 pm on Monday, Feb 24. You don’t even need a flyer! Pitfire is donating 10 percent of the entire evening’s sales to us (takeout and dine-in….but not delivery)! Tell your friends, your neighbors, your hairdresser and your accountant — eat at Pitfire Pizza Monday evening — 401 Manhattan Beach Blvd, 310/359-9555. Volunteers Needed for Saturday’s Meet:  The coaches are very much counting on the parent group to help out with the meets this season. Even if you’ve never been to a track meet, you can find ways to help! And don’t worry that you’ll miss your athlete’s event if you’re working. We always cover for each other so that we can see our kids compete (I mean, that’s the whole point, right?) Please click on over to our Volunteer Spot and sign up for a shift.
