Save these Dates — and other info you need

Greetings! We hope this finds you and your athletes awash in the joys of finals. (Right!) Well, we at least hope you are surviving the week. Second semester is but a few days away, and you know what that means? Track & Field season begins in a month! (The Schedule has been updated and is, as you might guess, on the Schedule Tab. We are hard at work with the coaches to get all the details in place for a great season. Only thing missing? YOU! Please read on to see what’s happening:

Save the Date! Parents Meeting, Wednesday, February 13, 6:30 pm:
Be sure to make plans now to join us in the Costa Library where you will get all the pertinent information you need to navigate the Track & Field season. The Coaches and Boosters will cover everything from meet protocol to uniforms to volunteering. See ya there!

Time Trials, Thursday, February 14, 2:45 pm:
How sweet it is (or would be) if you could come out to see the athletes’ “practice meet,” aka, “Time Trials” on St. Valentine’s Day! This is a great opportunity to help out on the field in a relaxed environment and see how a meet is run and where you might fit in to the T&F Volunteer Corps! Oh, yes, and you’ll get to see your athlete compete in a “scrimmage!”

Record Wall Dedication/Plaque Donation:
We will officially dedicate our Record Wall to the late Coach Bob Fish on March 20 before our meet vs. Palos Verdes. We have joined forces with the faculty and staff to have a bronze plaque forged in Fish’s honor, to be installed below the Record Wall. We are still accepting donations for the plaque. If you would like to donate, please make checks out to MBAF w/ Track & Field/Plaque in the memo and mail to:
Track & Field Boosters
PO Box 1195
Manhattan Beach CA 90267

“Ski Week” Practice:
Athletes should check with their squad coaches regarding ski week workout schedules and to discuss any travel conflicts.

Banners, Donations, Sponsors:
We have tweaked our Stadium Banner program to be more in line with the other sports. If you have already been in contact with a sponsor using the old numbers, and the price increase is a deal-breaker, please let us know. Otherwise, in a nutshell: Track Season only 3 x 4 foot banners are now $750 ($600 for those who have already participated in the banner program through another sport). Full year small banners are no longer available. Large full-year banners remain $5,000 — $3,500 for track season only. We are also looking for sponsors for our Banquet (scheduled for May 20). Here’s an info sheet to share: Sponsorship Opportunities

Join us! We have a great Booster Board in place and we are always looking to welcome in new (and returning volunteers). Please, join us! Email us at

We are looking forward to a great season!
