See you tomorrow at South!

See you tomorrow at 2:45, South Torrance High School
Yes, it’s a rare Wednesday afternoon meet down at South (nicely scheduled so that the athletes participating in the Nike meet Friday and/or Saturday have an extra day of rest!) Here’s the South v. MCHS schedule of events  with times from the folks at South. Caution — these are just estimates — if you want to be sure you see your athlete compete, don’t cut it too close!

Great performance at Beverly Hills!
So we loaded up the bus and we went to Beverly….Hills that is. And we swept (again) — Boys and Girls Frosh/Soph and Varsity beat both BHHS and North Torrance in this non-Bay-League meet. And great job running on that squarish track with four straightaways! Pix are up on the SmugMug site!

Nike/Redondo Invitational coming up this weekend:
There is a newly added “Distance Carnival” on Friday evening, in addition to the events on Saturday, all at Redondo Union High School (Corner of Vincent & Prospect in RB). Your athlete will find out today if they are competing. Here’s the Schedule of Events. The athlete’s entry fees are paid for by the Booster Club. For spectators attending, bring cash! Most invitational meets have entry fees, and this one is no exception. General admission is $5 — children under 12 are free. Parking is tough if the lots are full — which they probably will be — so give yourself plenty of time and wear walking shoes!

Mustang Relays 3/31!
We are excited to annually host our very own invitational — The Mustang Relays. This event draws teams from all over the Southland and it’s a BIG money maker for our program as well. In order to execute a flawless meet, we need all hands on deck — that means moms, dads, grandparents, high-school and college-age siblings, and students looking for volunteer hours — come on out and lend a hand! We need to fill our volunteer slots to the brim. If you’re hesistant to sign up until you know what time your athlete is competing, we hear you! Here’s the Mustang Relays Schedule of Events. Take a look and then click on over to Volunteer Spot to sign up. You can even share a shift with a family member. If you need to tweak a shift, or ask questions, feel free to email our Volunteer Scheduler, Robin Pittman

T&F Merch: Most of our pre-purchased merchandise has been distributed (hooray!). If you ordered a stadium chair, duffel, license plate frame, spike bag, decal or luggage tag and have not yet received it (nor heard from us), please reply to this email and let us know. We will continue to sell these items at the home meets until they are sold out (Note — we have 4 duffels available for $30 each but you will have to get your student’s name embroidered on your own) If you ordered a uniform or apparel, the coaches are awaiting a shipment from Nike & our sweats folk.

Mustangs in the News: Nice write-up in the Beach Reporter about the T&F program — pix too! Page 34 of the March 8 edition. Here’s the online link: Beach Reporter 3-8

Lost and Found: Please have your athlete check to see that they have the correct spikes. Someone grabbed the wrong pair at practice — see Allie Grande.

See you at South Wednesday night!
